This car has been in our family for more than 30 years. It was bought from the then new East London SAAB Dealership, SAAB City, in 1987, (the first SAAB the company sold) by my brother-in-law. He gave the car to my wife in 2000, I believe, and we drove it until the late 2000's, when I parked it up in a ventilated garage. I recovered it several months ago., had it checked over, serviced, made roadworthy and MOT'd. It was in very good shape, needed very little work, apart from some consumables, like windscreen wipers and a section of the exhaust. It passed its MOT with no trouble. It was undersealed from new, so the body is sound. There are small amounts of rust in places. The tyres are good and the battery is new. Damage to the driver's seat frame has been repaired, but inside, the headlining fabric is coming adrift. The paintwork, Cirrus White, is dull. All in all, it is in remarkably good condition, and would make an excellent and inexpensive restoration job.
