Kent: astronomy for everyone in plain english, Westgate-on-sea

We are a friendly local Astronomy group in the Thanet area. Our main aim is to support our local community's interest in astronomy in as clear and easy to understand way as possible. We hold regular monthly members meetings, and viewing evenings weather permitting.

To support the community and help new people find our group along with providing an easy way to meet our group, we hold a weekly public outreach meeting including adult and junior groups. Anyone can attend these drop-in meetings, ask questions, learn how to use a variety of telescopes and meet some of our members.

If your interest begins to expand we have many presentations on a verity of astronomical subjects. For those that have a real desire to learn more about the subject we run regular courses starting with the Beginners Guide to Stargazing.

We also support our local Scouting and Guiding groups with their Astronomy and Space related badges, as well as talks and presentations to other local groups.
