For the 4th consecutive year we are taking the artist Barbara Rae RA to the Arctic and joining us are some Friends of the Scott Polar Research Institute. Barbara Rae has been working on a series of superb Arctic paintings inspired by her namesake the Scottish explorer John Rae who discovered part of the fabled Northwest Passage and the ill-fated Franklin Expedition. The first of a series of exhibitions of her work will be shown at the Royal Scottish Academy in August. The 13 night voyage from 3rd - 15th September 2018 explores the icy landscapes, colourful fishing villages, wildlife and delicate Arctic flora of Greenland and Baffin Island. Nightcap chats and whisky obligatory.
